Sandlycke Gård, from the 1860’s is owned and operated by Eva and Patrick Petrén Allier, who moved to Dals Rostock in 2012. Since then they have been developing the farm and restoring the buildings to create a dynamic business in this picturesque setting.
Patrick has studied art, agriculture and as a tour guide. Today he works as a professional artist while producing and selling sustainably grown vegetables and offering guide services within Dalsland. Eva is an author, lecturer, stylist, hairdresser and makeup artist. She spends part of her time working in Gothenburg when she is not running Sandlycke Gård, arranging its numerous musical and cultural events throughout the year.
During the summer, Sandlycke Gård’s self-service boutique is open every day. Visitors can purchase seasonal vegetables such as salad, cabbage, zucchini, potatoes, chillies and herbs. All grown sustainably without artificial pesticides or fertilisers. They also sell duck eggs from the farm’s muscovy ducks.
In 2019 Sandlycke held its first evening of live music peppered with other cultural features. Several art and music acts and a bar serving refreshments and street food filled the barn with kids, adults and great grandparents. The summer’s events were organised in conjunction with the annual Dalsland art trail and village festival Rostock Rundan. In the daytime the farm was packed with happenings focused on arts, crafts and secondhand from both far and near. Summer 2020 is set to continue in the same spirit!
