Tant Vanja’s textile museum is located in Dals Rostock, a gentle walk from us at Kroppefjäll B&B, and is run by Kerstin Lindeberg. Her museum contains textiles from everyday life in the swedish home and shows how textiles were and are still today crafted by hand. Visitors can learn about the crafts that were so important when life in the swedish countryside was largely self sufficient.
Kerstin is happy to tell how people would prepare flax and wool, spin thread, weave, sew, repair and make use of even the smallest rags in the past. Skills that should not be forgotten. In addition, she arranges various exhibitions where you can learn more about these old, valuable techniques and see preserved objects up close.
